About the Owner
Carlos Gonzalez is currently the owner/agent of Carlos Gonzalez State Farm Agency, Owner of Leadership 360, LLC, Founder/Director of True North Empowerment Services, Inc. (A non-profit organization which mentors both adults and youth in the community), and retired Army First Sergeant. He served in the Unites States Army for 26 years (from December 1988 to May 2015), before opening his State Farm Office. Carlos has 30 years of leadership experience in both the public and private sectors of business. He held leadership positions ranging from team leader (leading two employees) to operations manager where he led 130 employees.
During his time in the Army, Carlos served as the Senior Leadership Instructor and Chief of Training for the Army Enlisted Leadership Academy located on Fort Carson, Colorado. These leadership positions exposed him to numerous leadership situations, which ultimately resulted in a wide array of learning experiences.
His community involvement includes part-time volunteer and paid positions with Educating Children of Color, The Emily Griffith Center for Children as a residential treatment counselor, a youth mentor for Chins-up Children’s Services, and a family preservation worker and youth mentor coordinator for Ways Out Academy.
Carlos is married with 5 children whose ages range from 11 to 29 years of age. He has an 8 year old granddaughter and 5 year old twin grandsons.
His education includes a Masters of Arts in Human Resource Management, A Bachelors of Science in Personnel Administration, and an Associates of Arts in Management Studies.
His military awards include the Army Bronze Star, five Army Meritorious Service Medals, and a Joint Service Achievement Medal. His combat tours include deployments to Desert Storm/Shield (1990/1991) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005/2006).
